Site Electrician - Inverness

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Site service Electrician 

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

LOCATION: Inverness

HOURS: 40 per week, 0800 to 1630 Monday to Friday, 30 minute unpaid break. No holidays allowed during harvest period

SUMMARY OF JOB:

Responsible to the Maintenance Supervisor for the operation and installation of all site buildings electrical wiring and lighting in accordance with current electrical standards and corresponding legislation. The position further provides assistance to all on site personnel, where required. All employees must adhere to the zero drink and drugs policy and wear all personal protective equipment required on site. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Carry out planned and non-routine electrical maintenance, rectification using best practice regimes.
  • Liaise with malting management to report any obvious maintenance anomalies and to be familiar with the latest instructions and procedures.
  • Recommend alterations and improvements for enhanced operation.
  • Provide assistance and work flexibly (with due regard to competence, capability and knowledge) with site staff and tradesmen.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within and around the engineering workshops and plant.
  • Ensure personal development by keeping up to date with new legislation & technologies appropriate to own skills.
  • Carry out other duties from time to time that may be reasonably requested.
  • Logging and maintaining site legal requirement testing (fire alarm, emergency stops etc)

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL:

Qualifications:

  • Time served Electrician with current 17th edition

Skills/Abilities:

  • Able to follow procedures
  • Excellent problem solving ability
  • Computer literate
  • Literate and numerate

  • Willing to learn/train in various areas relating to the position
  • Reliability and good time keeping

Working Knowledge:

  • Lock off / tag off procedures
  • Quality awareness
  • Able to demonstrate practical experience in electrical maintenance

General Manager - Scotgrain, Arbroath

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: General Manager - Scotgrain

REPORTS TO: CEO – Bairds Malt Limited

DEPARTMENT: Scotgrain

LOCATION: Arbroath

HOURS:9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday

SUMMARY OF JOB:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the business of Scotgrain Agriculture Ltd.
  • Responsible for maximisation of trading revenue (volume and margin) through the development and management of trading strategies & consumption supply negotiation.
  • Direct planning and development activities and provide the necessary leadership and guidance to the business.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

OPERATIONAL DUTIES 

  • Work with the Commercial Director and Operations Manager [BML] to effectively manage the malting barley requirements of BML to ensure cost effective / high value procurement and subsequent supply/delivery to Bairds Malt Scottish malting plants.
  • Responsible for feeding barley, wheat, and oilseed rape pricing policy, trading, marketing, purchases and sales
  • Provide trading resource to the Grain & Seed Department working in close conjunction with traders, coordinators and administrators.
  • Maintain the necessary level of contact with key consumers, suppliers, industry organisations and other entities as appropriate.
  • Communication within the industry and with other agencies to ensure that the interests of Scotgrain [Bairds Malt Group] are properly represented and that information pertinent to the business is gathered and subsequently distributed internally to relevant individuals.
  • Liaise with other procurement/trading personnel within the Bairds Malt Group and GrainCorp Marketing with respect to trading opportunities, sharing of relevant information and effective servicing of common consumers/customers.
  • Prepare quarterly Board submissions and participate in Scotgrain Board meetings
  • Liaise with farm traders to improve their confidence and profitability in grain procurement, and to ensure appropriate information flows of market information within Scotgrain and Bairds Malt
  • Suggest and execute new trading strategies

STRATEGY AND PLANNING

  • Develop objectives for the business and pursue the development and implementation of strategies to enhance the performance of the business
  • Participate in strategic planning with other senior managers to identify and agree key business goals and objectives

COMPLIANCE 

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, contractual obligations and ethical standards.
  • Ensure compliance with industry assurance schemes in which the company is a member.
  • Ensure Scotgrain’s adherence to the Merchanting Charter
  • Ensure the accurate and timely production of trading positions in context of the overall risk management profile of Scotgrain [Bairds Malt Group]
